Photography class
I took a photography class in high school. It was a film photography class where we used some old cameras that made everything manual. This class was amazing as it taught me 2 things.
1. There is no real difference between the quality of photographs of Film and Digital, people who say film is better are just elitists. Digital cameras just make people lazy and Auto focus doesn't work as well as doing it yourself so the pictures just look worse.
Here is my first picture I've taken with a camera that my girlfriend has given me, its a Panasonic DMC-FZ8, so, like almost 20 years old.
This isn't bad because the camera is old, or because it's a digital camera, its bad because I'm a bad photographer.
2. The second thing I learned in that Film Photography class is that, photography is amazing and photoshop is important. Yes, you can take a picture that looks amazing, but if you haven't used a camera in almost 10 years, the ability to touch up the pictures is really nice.
Here is that same picture before I touched it up
See, the picture is fine before photoshop, but the blur and contrast effects just make it better. To see my final product check out my Instagram. Filters are important too.
As you can see, what was a mediocre picture, is now slightly better. So I don't look like an absolutely trash photographer. And there is nothing wrong with touching it up like this. Photography is art, and art should be manipulated to show what the artist was trying to show.
